Making sense of member care in today’s mission world calls for experienced insight and compassionate assessment. There is confusion among counseling, member care, HR, coaching, and spiritual direction. There is confusion about the name, Member Care. We propose there is a place for each of these but clarification must happen. That’s what we will do. Specifically, we will focus on what member care should look like in the future. How should current thinking be changed? What must we not lose? Who is being overlooked on today’s mission teams? Who should lead this new effort? We shall begin to accomplish this together through the use of a detailed case study, designed to highlight solution strategies.
